Watch out for animals larger than bears.
Don't rely on windsheild wippers to keep your windows clean. Clean them manually too.
Drive safely.
Check carefully before changing lanes. One of the most frequent causes of highway accidents is a vehicle's failure to check carefully before changing lanes. This is especially true of accidents between large trucks and smaller passenger vehicles. Most large trucks have areas on them called "no-zones", located at the front, sides, and back of the truck. In these zones, trucks experience limited visibility and often cannot see smaller cars that occupy these areas.
Inspect tires for wear and damage frequently.
Change the engine oil at least every 250 hours.
Repack wheel bearings with grease at least every two years.
Inspect your windshield wiper blades, since ice and snow are hard on them.
Change your truck’s oil religiously.
Have your truck's engine serviced regularly.
